I do believe that there are moments and then there are Moments in life. Saturday morning happened to be one of those MOMENTS in my life.
The man who had my heart, the one I've dated for a year and a half, the one I've been living with and creating memories with decided that he was not prepared to look into the future and have a discussion about "us" and our plans together. Rather he has decided to go his own way, follow his own path, and live in the present. Needless to say this was a Saturday morning Moment that I did not see coming. My mistake, I guess, was in believing that there never really had to be an "end" to it all.
So what does one do with a Moment such as this? Obviously the meanderings will be taking a 360 degree turn from this point and I'm left with the fallout of sadness, hurt, pain and a whole lot of questions. But there are choices to be made even in this situation and life will pick up and move on. I know that and I do believe that it will. (At this moment I wish I were already at that point, but one never wants to wish one's life away...even if it is just day by day.)
So I've chosen to spend some time looking through photos of our time together. I'm realizing that there are still wonderful memories of this time in my life, although they may be tinged with sadness now. This realness is what makes up the fabric of our lives. The memories of joy, the memories of sadness and pain, and the little snippets of day-to-day living in between. In order to heal, one must feel and go through all emotions. So this has been my baby step in the process.
I've also chosen to begin this blog. "Moments and Meanderings" has been percolating in my head for awhile now. While I grieve and heal, I need to be "do"-ing something so I thought it the perfect opportunity to begin writing. And don't worry, I promise that just as in life not all moments are full of sadness, this blog will be full of wonderful moments, memories and meanderings along with those that are not so fun to deal with.
